Ukraine

Ukraine is the largest country in Europe, located in Eastern Europe. It has the picturesque Carpathian Mountains, the Black and Azov Seas, and the 2 largest European rivers (Danube and Dnieper), plus plenty of forests, lakes, and steppe. Bountiful Ukrainian farmlands feed neighboring and distant countries, while the IT and MilTech sectors develop some of the best technological solutions. 

The Ukrainian state dates back to the 9th Century. In 988 AD, the Prince of Kyivan Rus accepted Christianity and declared Ukraine a Christian state. Later, Ukraine lost its independence and was divided by Poland, Lithuania, and Moscow. In 1991, we declared independence, which led to the collapse of the USSR. But Russia didn't want to lose its grip on us and annexed Crimea and Donbas in 2014 and started full-scale aggression in 2022. 12 years of war made us mature and overcome a slave mentality, raising new generations of leaders. 

Ukraine's greatest treasure is its people. Ukrainians are kind-hearted, generous, and hospitable. They have a seasoned sense of humor and strong resilience, hoping for the better against all odds. We love foreigners (who respect our dignity and sovereignty) and gladly welcome people of all religions, races, and cultures. Ukraine is the only country where Christian, Jewish, and Muslim believers pray together in the Parliament and in the war zone. 

UBF was founded in 1991 when Dr. Peter and Sarah Kim's family pioneered the main university of Kyiv. For 30 years, we served the campus mission at 3 of the largest universities and sent pioneers and missionaries around the world. In 2008, we moved in to the own church building. In 2019, the mission was entrusted to native shepherds. Because of full-scale aggression, many of our brothers and sisters were scattered all over Europe. Currently, we have 6 house churches, including 2 missionary families, and some disciples serving in the Kyiv chapter. 

Come to Ukraine as a missionary to experience the power of resurrection faith and participate in the ministry of national healing and restoration, as in South Korea in the 1950s.
